Remnant
Remnant looks at what the desert leaves behind.
Out here, nothing really disappears. Plants dry into skeletons. Ground splits open after the rain stops. Stone weathers out of the hills a grain at a time. Everything is in the middle of becoming something else, on a schedule far longer than ours.
These pieces work with that geology and ecology, using clay and materials gathered from the land around the studio. They're less about any one plant or rock than about the whole system, and about where we stand in it.
We're one more thing passing through this landscape. The desert will keep what it wants.
Have a piece, an exhibition or a project in mind? I’d be happy to chat.
